All International travellers now arrive in the brand new (1998) International Terminal of the Jose Marti Airport. This recently opened modern facility offers world-class airport services.

Immigration authorities will check your passport and your visa. Cuba has Free Visa Agreements with some countries. If you are travelling as a tourist and you arrive without a visa, the immigration authorities will provide you with one immediately for 20USD. Once your visa and passport are checked, your VISA will be stamped with the date of your arrival, passports are not stamped if requested. If you do not wish to have your passport stamped (this happens very often with North American citizens and other visitors that travel frequently to the USA), you may inform the Customs officer. Cuba operates closely with INTERPOL and will reject entrance to any individual affected.

Then you will go on to the Customs control. You may be asked to fill in a Customs declaration. Don't bring electrical items beyond boom boxes, irons and hairdryers. For flights coming from Miami or passengers originating in Miami, this declaration is compulsory in most cases. Your luggage will be X Ray checked and other sanitary controls be effected, to prevent the entrance of drugs, explosives or non-authorized chemical products. In case the authorities request to look inside the luggage this will be done in presence of the visitor.

Should you wish to "bypass" the above lengthy group procedures we offer an exclusive "VIP" entrance where you are met from the plane door and personally whisked through the above routine. Email us with your request or visit our travel LINK.
